November 2020 Meeting

Our President called the Zoom meeting together and welcomed everyone.   We had 13 members attending this meeting.

First up, a thank you to Caryl C. for coordinating not only the meetings but creating the slide shows for us to enjoy and then uploading them to Facebook.   Thank you Caryl for your efforts!

Next up, a thank you to BJ for hosting and teaching a gold work class this past fall.   Members who signed up donned their masks met at BJ's on two different Saturdays to work on this project.   It was a great introduction to gold work for some and for others it was a good session to get some pointers and learn proper technique.     Below is one of the two choices.   The other was not a silhouette, had two wings and was completed with gold work and red.

Business Meeting

Teaching Opportunity - At last month's meeting Joan informed members that she would put Lamplighter's name for the opportunity of winning a Zoom class with a teacher.   Unfortunately for Lamplighter's,  the Brandywine Chapter was awarded the class.    Maybe next year.......

2021 Challenge - The new challenge for 2021 will be EGA 2021.   Members are encouraged to stitch any EGA project.   This could be a Group Correspondence Course (GCC).   It could be Christmas in July project never finished.   It could be any class pieces demonstrated at a meeting.    There are many free smaller and medium projects and instructions on the EGA website.  The EGA Facebook page has a monthly SAL project.  Once you have finished an EGA project you will share during Show 'n Tell of a meeting.   Points will be given for each submission and the member with the most points at the end of the year will received a $25 gift card to the store of their choice.  Stitched smalls must be finished, larger items do not need to be framed.

Group Correspondence Course (GCC)  -  The selection is "Shimmering Dreams" and can be seen in the most recent Region Newsletter.  The cost is $59.   The deadline for sign-up is January 15, 2021.   The class will start sometime in March.  You can see the project under the Education/Group Correspondence Classes on the EGA website.
