Christmas in July -
We have three small projects lined up for the third Saturday in July.   The cost is $20.   Please bring your normal stitching supplies and a bagged lunch.   Caryl will email attendees prior to July 20th a reminder and a list of any additional supplies.

This is always great day of stitching together and possibly learning a new trick or two.

We will be taught a canvas work needle book by BJ in the fall.   The piece is called The Curious Needle Book.   It will be stitched on 18 count canvas, 6 x 10 piece.   We will see what the interest and decide if we want to do this as a group.    If there is enough interest, the project will be kitted up for those who want to stitch it.  The cost will be about $20.

Project -Hooray for the Red, White & Blue canvas work project.

Linda W. gave us a lot of good tips for working on this piece.   For ease of placement, you can draw lines on the canvas.  For the borders Linda used 4-ply; other stitches, she used 3-ply.    The outside border is stitched over 3; inside border stitched over 2.  In the section with the words are, Linda recommends stitching the words first, then do the darning stitch and adding the border for that area last.   It will be easier to 'bury' the ends of the darn in the border by adding the border last.  For the bunting, Linda used Neon Rays in red, white and blue to give it a bit of sheen.   Neon Rays is an option and you are certainly able to stitch from stash if you choose.

See everyone in June for our last meeting of the year!
