We canceled our meeting for February because of threatened black ice after sunset.
Here is an updated to the blog based on our Wick Newsletter -
** The UFO Challenge - For our Challenge, a UFO is any project started before 1/1/2017. This Challenge begins February 2017 and will be completed at the June 2018 meeting. The minimum size must be 6 x 6. Sorry, this does eliminate Christmas ornaments. A set of smalls, with a minimum of three pieces, that are finished can be submitted. Large pieces do not have to be framed and pillows do not need to be finished. Any technique can be used: crewel, counted cross stitch, needlepoint or blackwork. Bring you list of "challenge" pieces (8 1/2" x 11" notebook paper) to the March Meeting. You can bring your finishes to the monthly meeting or wait and bring them all at the end. For each finish a member accomplishes, the member will receive a ticket. At the June 2018 Meeting, the winner will be chosen from the tickets issued.
**At the March Meeting, Lynn B. will help us with a stash buster project. She will provide the pattern for a canvas work ornament. The design size is 64 x 80 stitches and is designed for 18 count white canvas but you can stitch it on any fabric or color.
**April Meeting will be our Covered Dish Dinner. The meeting will be on April 20 and not the normal second Thursday. The Nominating Committee for elections will be selected. Katie Chrysler will introduce a interpretive shape stitching project. Completed pieces should be bright to the September meeting to share.
**May Meeting - A Presentation on Gloucester County Samplers by Patti Hryenko of the Gloucester County Historical Society.
**May - We may be having a Stitch in Public Day in association with Arts In Bloom Salem County. More information will follow.
